It Smells a Lot like Christmas! DIY Stovetop Simmers

It’s almost Christmas, but there is no reason your home can’t smell like Christmas today!

There are many creative ways to make Christmas potpourri: stove top, slow cooker, candle warmer, tea pots and fondue pots. Whichever method you choose, you can begin to fill your home with the smell of Christmas in under 30 minutes.

First, pour in 2-3 cups of water, add your ingredients, turn down the heat and let simmer. You will most likely need to add water to the pan about every 30 minutes.

  • 1/2 Cup Fresh Cranberries
  • 1 Sliced Orange
  • 4 Cinnamon sticks (broken in half)
  • 1 TB Cloves
  • 1/8 TSP Nutmeg
  • 2-3 Cups of Water

  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla
  • 3 Cups Apple Cider
  • Sliced Oranges
  • Sliced Lemons

  • Whole Cloves

  • 5 to 6 cinnamon sticks, broken
  • 1 tbsp. lemon peel
  • 1 tbsp. orange peel
  • 1/2 c. whole cloves
  • 1 tbsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. whole allspice
  • 1 tbsp. bay leaf pieces
  • 2 slices dried apples, optional
