St. Louis, Mo. (December 2014) – Giving to those in need is a staple of the holiday season. Who can think of a better time to donate your time, put in a little extra effort, and give to those who are less fortunate?

At Woodard Cleaning & Restoration, we understand this all too well.

In St. Louis, there are many worthy causes and organizations that could use a little extra help.

Here’s a look at just a few of the ways Woodard has given back to the St. Louis community this holiday season.

Just in Time for Christmas

Christmas gifts under the tree

Just 5 days before Christmas, Woodard Community Service Representative Caleb Keane delivered 2 large containers of toys (donated by Woodard employees) to the Glendale Fire Department to be delivered to Room at the Innshelter in Bridgeton, Missouri. Room at the Inn provides immediate, temporary shelter to homeless women and families in St. Louis County.

A Notable Spread

In December, Woodard Account Manager and Building Owners and Managers Association St. Louis (BOMA) Board Member Megan Niederschulte, and Woodard Marketing Coordinator Tiffany Hudson delivered lunch from Honey Baked Ham—ham, potato salad, chips, cookies, rolls, bread—to the 25 women residents of the Shalom House Emergency Shelter in St. Louis City. Shalom House is the 2015 BOMA St. Louis charity partner.

Relief to Ferguson

Relief efforts at Ferguson

In November, as part of Woodard’s community service outreach, Woodard held a food and personal care items drive to help provide basic essentials and give much needed relief to individuals truly in need in Ferguson, Missouri. Woodard made 2 deliveries to St. Stephen’s & The Vine Episcopal Church, totaling about 30 boxes of household goods!

Woodard also collected snack items that could easily be carried in packs or vests for the hundreds of first responders (police, fire, and EMS personnel) on patrol in Ferguson. In all, 20 boxes of snack foods like peanuts, dried fruits, trail mix, beef jerky, and energy/protein bars were delivered to the Ferguson Fire Department.
