Woodard’s Fire and Smoke Restoration Service

An important part of Woodard Cleaning & Restoration is our fire and smoke restoration service line. This department specializes in the cleaning, deodorization and restoration of structures and contents following a fire.

Typically, our fire and smoke restoration technicians would come to your home or business immediately after a fire, where we inventory and carefully pack-out all of the contents from an affected area.  We bring these items to our warehouse for deodorizing, detail cleaning, and finally reviewing with the owner and insurance provider.  After the items have been cleaned in our ContentCare Centersm they are stored in fire resistant vaults and moved back when you are ready to retake possession (this is often delayed after a fire, allowing time to rebuild).

Our fire and smoke restoration technicians also provide structural cleanings and deodorization after a fire or water loss.  To deodorize, we use several tools, including…

  • Air Scrubbers (used to remove airborne particulates)
  • Ozone Treatments (equipment that creates ozone, which destroys odor molecules and bacteria)
  • Thermal Fogging (vaporizing a masking solution to attack foul odors where they reside)
  • Hydroxl Treatments (similar to Ozone Treatments, destroying odor molecules)
  • Anti-Microbial Solutions (kills existing microbial growth, which emits the “mold” scent)

We also use advanced equipment to clean structures, including Cryo-Blasting, which uses dry ice as a blasting medium to quickly and gently dislodge soot from porous materials.

Other high-tech attractions at the ContentCare Centersm include…

  • O’Dell electronic cleaning system (same system used by the military to keep their electronics working in dirty environments)
  • Ultrasonic Cleaning (large stainless steel vats utilizing ultrasonic sound waves through a cleaning solution to eliminate dirty build-ups)
  • Wash Bays (used to power wash appliances, etc)
  • Ozone Rooms (used for content odor elimination)
  • Upholstery cleaning stations (where Woodard’s experts apply their craft)
  • Independent cleaning stations (for hand-cleaning special items)
  • Document drying and reprocessing rooms
  • New packout and workflow processes, including bar-code inventory control and replacement cost estimating
  • Viewing rooms for content owners, insurance adjusters and Woodard representatives to view the cleaning results
  • Storage in fire resistant vaults

Since this department handles so many different tasks, training is very important to us. We utilize rigorous training protocols and method sheets, which have provided significant improvement in efficiency and accuracy of task completion.

Our ContentCare Centersm has equipment not found anywhere else within hundreds of miles of our location.  Woodard offers the most advanced fire restoration solutions in the Midwest, and has the largest fully-trained staff providing these services.
