St. Louis Public Radio Came To Visit

Woodard is a proud sponsor of St. Louis Public Radio, and we were thrilled when Mike Schrand came to visit with us.  We provided him with a tour of our rug cleaning and repair facility, and he produced a “Sonic ID” of Woodard for airing on KWMU-FM.

We’ve attached a couple photos of Mike Schrand (holding microphone) with Justin Woodard, and a copy of the audio Sonic ID.

Thanks Mike, our rug cleaning facility has a lot of interesting sounds for the radio.  Helping with this was a lot of fun!  Click here for the audio: Justin Woodard Sonic ID on KWMU_fmix30

Rug Plant

Here at the rug plant we are striving to clean our customer’s rugs in a way that is both more environmentally friendly and that is better for our customers. Recently we have switched to a more environmentally friendly way of rolling your cleaned rugs. We used to wrap them in paper or plastic, which was wasteful. Now we roll them and tie them with a renewable environmentally friendly twine. This allows to not only keep costs low and pass those savings directly onto you, but also to leave less of a footprint on the world around us.  We’re still happy to wrap rugs, if the customer would like.

On a note that is exciting to us (maybe not everyone else though…) is that we are changing the knot we use on the rugs. The original knot used, while strong, left the rope needing to be cut to free the rug. This increased the risk of damaging a precious rug. We have now switched to a knot, that while still strong; can be untied by a simple pull of one end of the twine. It is a knot that is very popular in back-packing and other outdoor endeavors and has now found a new home at the Woodard Rug Plant.
